From the Artist:
“I like to work in layers. I’m inspired by themes of
revelation and concealment, such as seeing past eroded
layers of paint peeling on an old building; portals or
holes through which you can glimpses something partially
hidden, transparency and shadowy forms of objects viewed
through semi transparent material; bits of reflected
light. I am also interested in repetition and pattern.
I find these themes in natures as well: sea shells,
beach glass, rocks, plants and clouds…all are shaped and
worn by elements, as well as having pattern. I enjoy
studying them and drawing them, and abstracting what
parts interest me. I draw on my experiences as
printmaker and textile designer when thinking in terms
of layering techniques and patterns.”
